Their Opportunity et le Fonds commémoratif Eleanor MacQuarrie ont fait équipe pour créer le
Programme d'initiation au patinage et à la ringuette NextGen Ottawa
Destiné aux jeunes de 7 à 12 ans qui ne bénéficient pas de services adéquats, ce programme sera offert sur sept sessions en août et septembre 2024. Cette initiative passionnante, guidée par des joueurs d'élite et des instructeurs expérimentés, offre une introduction complète au patinage et à la ringuette. Au cours des quatre premières séances, les participants apprendront les habiletés essentielles et les principes fondamentaux du patinage.
Après les séances de patinage, nous passons à une introduction exaltante à la ringuette en trois séances, au cours desquelles les participants mettront à l'épreuve sur la glace les compétences de patinage qu'ils viennent d'acquérir. Au cours de la première phase de notre programme, les participants passeront quatre séances à apprendre les compétences essentielles et les principes fondamentaux du patinage. Guidée par des instructeurs expérimentés, chaque session est conçue pour renforcer la confiance et la compétence sur la glace, en veillant à ce que chaque participant, quel que soit son niveau de départ, fasse des progrès constants.

Au cours de ces séances, les participants mettront à l'épreuve leurs nouvelles compétences en patinage en apprenant les bases de ce sport rapide et passionnant. Nos instructeurs enseigneront les techniques fondamentales et les règles de la ringuette, offrant ainsi une expérience dynamique et engageante. Cette phase est conçue pour être à la fois stimulante et agréable, aidant les participants à développer leurs compétences dans un contexte d'équipe.

ABOUT (Uncle) Paul Gill
Paul Stewart Gill, born and raised in Brockville Ontario, Paul was deeply devoted to his beloved wife, Glenna, and their four sons (Randy, Ryan, Rob and Reilly). His life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, care, and dedication to his family and the entire community.
Paul's gentle spirit, kind heart, and unwavering dedication to his family and community have left an indelible mark on those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered as a pillar of strength, love, and compassion. He will also be remembered as the person who so many people would say they were inspired to fish because of him. We hope that this derby will inspire the next generation to carry on Paul’s passion for fishing, the love of the outdoors and his love for all people.
Paul (Dad), you may have cast your final line on this earth, but the ripples of your love, kindness, and wisdom continue to touch us all. You taught us to fish for the joys in life, to reel in our dreams, and to release our fears.
